Job Description
The Runner is responsible for providing logistical and material support to teams working on construction, maintenance, or industrial sites. This position ensures that tools, equipment, documents, and materials are delivered promptly to the right locations, helping maintain workflow and productivity. The Runner supports supervisors and skilled workers by managing errands, handling small deliveries, and assisting with basic job site tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver tools, materials, and equipment to work areas as requested by supervisors or tradesmen
Collect and transport items between warehouses, workshops, and job sites
Assist in loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring items are safely handled and accounted for
Keep accurate records of deliveries, receipts, and materials distributed
Maintain organization and cleanliness in storage and staging areas
Assist with minor on-site tasks such as preparing materials or setting up work areas
Report shortages, damaged materials, or missing tools to the supervisor
Ensure safe handling of materials and compliance with all safety procedures
Operate company vehicles or carts responsibly when transporting materials
Support logistics staff and contribute to efficient material management during projects
Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION: BASIC SECONDARY EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT
EXPERIENCE: 1 TO 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN A CONSTRUCTION, INDUSTRIAL, OR MAINTENANCE ENVIRONMENT IS PREFERRED
DRIVER’S LICENSE: VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE REQUIRED; ABILITY TO OPERATE COMPANY VEHICLES SAFELY
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF TOOLS, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT USED IN INDUSTRIAL OR CONSTRUCTION WORK
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS: ABILITY TO PRIORITIZE MULTIPLE TASKS AND MAINTAIN ACCURATE RECORDS
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS CLEARLY
SAFETY AWARENESS: COMMITMENT TO FOLLOWING SAFETY PROCEDURES AND WEARING REQUIRED PROTECTIVE GEAR
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: ABILITY TO LIFT, CARRY, AND MOVE MATERIALS SAFELY AND EFFICIENTLY
TEAMWORK: ABILITY TO COOPERATE EFFECTIVELY WITH SUPERVISORS, DRIVERS, AND FIELD CREWS
WORK ETHIC: RELIABLE, RESPONSIBLE, AND CAPABLE OF WORKING INDEPENDENTLY WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION
