The Planner is responsible for organizing, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance, repair, and project activities to ensure the effective use of manpower, materials, and equipment. This position involves preparing detailed work plans, tracking job progress, maintaining maintenance records, and ensuring that all mechanical work is executed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards. The Planner acts as the central link between the engineering, operations, and maintenance teams, ensuring optimal resource allocation and minimal downtime.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, plan, and schedule preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities
Prepare detailed work orders, job plans, and resource requirements for mechanical and maintenance tasks
Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and procurement to ensure timely availability of materials, spare parts, and tools
Review maintenance requests and prioritize tasks based on operational needs and equipment criticality
Maintain and update maintenance records, logs, and technical documentation in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Monitor progress of maintenance work and ensure adherence to schedules and safety standards
Estimate labor, material, and equipment costs for mechanical projects or maintenance jobs
Identify opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency, reliability, and equipment performance
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards in planning and execution
Prepare reports on maintenance performance, backlogs, and equipment reliability metrics
Support shutdown and turnaround planning by developing detailed work scopes, manpower schedules, and sequencing plans
Communicate with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and accurate work coordination
