Job Description
he Senior Pipe Fitter is responsible for the installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of piping systems for industrial, mechanical, and construction projects. This position requires advanced technical knowledge, precision, and the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and isometric drawings. The Senior Pipe Fitter leads or assists a team of pipe fitters to ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Measure, cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes according to specifications and blueprints
Install and align piping systems for steam, water, air, gas, and other industrial services
Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, and layout plans
Ensure proper selection and fitting of materials, valves, flanges, and gaskets
Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of piping systems to verify integrity and compliance
Perform maintenance and repair on existing piping systems as required
Supervise and train junior pipe fitters and helpers in proper fitting and safety techniques
Inspect completed installations for alignment, leaks, and compliance with codes and standards
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system modifications
Coordinate with welders, mechanical foremen, and engineers to ensure project efficiency and accuracy
Follow all company safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION: TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE OR DIPLOMA IN PIPE FITTING, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, OR RELATED FIELD
EXPERIENCE: AT LEAST 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN PIPE FITTING, WITH A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS IN A SENIOR OR LEAD ROLE
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: ADVANCED UNDERSTANDING OF PIPE MATERIALS, FITTINGS, VALVES, AND INDUSTRIAL PIPING SYSTEMS
DRAWING INTERPRETATION: ABILITY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND P&IDs, ISOMETRICS, AND TECHNICAL BLUEPRINTS
SAFETY AWARENESS: FULL KNOWLEDGE OF SAFETY PROCEDURES, PERMIT SYSTEMS, AND LOCKOUT/TAGOUT PROTOCOLS
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: PROFICIENCY IN USING PIPE THREADERS, CUTTERS, TORCHES, AND MEASURING INSTRUMENTS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: ABILITY TO WORK IN CONFINED SPACES, HEIGHTS, AND INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENTS
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: STRONG TEAMWORK AND COMMUNICATION ABILITIES; ABILITY TO COORDINATE EFFECTIVELY WITH SUPERVISORS AND CREW
