OCTG / Drill Pipe Inspector (DS-1 / API) — Level II

Job Description
As an OCTG Inspector, you will be responsible for performing high-quality inspections on drill pipe, tubing, casing, pup joints and connections using industry-standard methods. You will ensure compliance with DS-1, API RP 5A5, API 5CT, API 7G (as applicable), and client requirements. You will also produce accurate reports, maintain inspection integrity, and represent OTS professionally with clients.
Key Requirements :
Perform OCTG inspections including visual, dimensional, thread inspection and gauging, and damage assessment.
Execute NDT techniques as required: MPI/MT, UT, EMI (and other methods where qualified).
Verify acceptance criteria per DS-1 / API and client specifications; ensure traceability and correct identification/tagging.
Prepare clear, accurate inspection documentation: inspection reports, tally sheets, repair recommendations, and nonconformance notes.
Interface with client representatives on site: communicate findings, priorities, and next steps professionally and factually.
Maintain equipment readiness: daily checks, calibration/verification where applicable, correct consumables usage, and housekeeping.
Work safely and lead by example: follow OTS and client QHSE rules.
Requirements
10 years hands-on OCTG inspection experience (drill pipe / casing / BHA).
Strong working knowledge of DS-1 inspection criteria and common API references.
Proven ability to perform MT/MPI, UT, EMI, FLUT (as applicable to your certifications).
Solid understanding of tubular connections, thread damage mechanisms, and acceptance/rejection logic.
Strong report-writing ability and basic computer literacy.
Comfortable working in yard/workshop environments; physically fit for field conditions and extended standing.
