Job Description
The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all mechanical maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning activities within an industrial, construction, or plant environment. This position ensures that all mechanical systems and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and company standards. The Mechanical Supervisor provides leadership and technical guidance to foremen, mechanics, and technicians, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and coordinate all mechanical operations, maintenance, and repair activities on site
Plan and assign daily work schedules for mechanical teams and ensure tasks are completed efficiently
Monitor project progress, resource use, and equipment performance to ensure operational excellence
Provide technical guidance and support to foremen, mechanics, and pipe fitters as needed
Inspect work to ensure adherence to mechanical standards, specifications, and safety regulations
Interpret and apply mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to guide team activities
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on mechanical performance and maintenance progress
Ensure that all maintenance work is properly documented, including records of repairs, inspections, and modifications
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other supervisors to align mechanical operations with project timelines
Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and materials required for mechanical work
Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on site
Identify potential problems and implement preventive or corrective actions to minimize downtime

Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION: DIPLOMA OR DEGREE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE, OR RELATED FIELD
EXPERIENCE: AT LEAST 7 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE OR CONSTRUCTION, WITH AT LEAST 3 YEARS IN A SUPERVISORY ROLE
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF MECHANICAL SYSTEMS, HYDRAULICS, PNEUMATICS, AND ROTATING EQUIPMENT
LEADERSHIP ABILITY: PROVEN ABILITY TO SUPERVISE MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAMS AND MAINTAIN HIGH PRODUCTIVITY LEVELS
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: CAPABLE OF PLANNING, SCHEDULING, AND PRIORITIZING WORK EFFECTIVELY
SAFETY AWARENESS: THOROUGH KNOWLEDGE OF HSE STANDARDS AND ABILITY TO ENFORCE SAFETY COMPLIANCE AMONG CREWS
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: EXCELLENT WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION; ABILITY TO REPORT CLEARLY TO MANAGEMENT AND INTERFACE WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: PROFICIENCY IN USING AND MAINTAINING MECHANICAL TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND MEASURING INSTRUMENTS
