Job Description
he Mechanical Foreman is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily activities of the mechanical maintenance and installation team. This position ensures that all mechanical work, including assembly, repair, and preventive maintenance, is completed safely, efficiently, and according to technical and quality standards. The Mechanical Foreman works closely with engineers, supervisors, and project managers to ensure smooth operations and optimal equipment performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and direct a team of mechanics and technicians in mechanical maintenance and repair activities
Plan, organize, and monitor daily work schedules and resource allocation
Ensure all mechanical work is performed according to safety procedures, company policies, and technical standards
Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery
Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to guide work
Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment or systems
Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory
Coordinate with other departments to minimize downtime and support production goals
Provide technical guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members
Prepare and submit daily and weekly reports on progress and mechanical performance
Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION: DIPLOMA OR CERTIFICATE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE, OR RELATED FIELD
EXPERIENCE: MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS OF MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE OR INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE, WITH AT LEAST 2 YEARS IN A SUPERVISORY OR FOREMAN ROLE
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF MECHANICAL SYSTEMS, HYDRAULICS, PNEUMATICS, AND HEAVY EQUIPMENT
LEADERSHIP ABILITY: CAPABLE OF SUPERVISING TEAMS, ASSIGNING TASKS, AND ENSURING PRODUCTIVITY
SAFETY AWARENESS: FULL UNDERSTANDING OF INDUSTRIAL SAFETY PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: EFFECTIVE WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION IN ENGLISH; KNOWLEDGE OF DUTCH OR SARNAMI IS AN ADVANTAGE
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: PROFICIENCY IN USING MECHANICAL TOOLS, INSTRUMENTS, AND EQUIPMENT
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: ABILITY TO WORK IN INDUSTRIAL OR FIELD CONDITIONS, INCLUDING LIFTING, CLIMBING, AND STANDING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS
WORK ETHIC: STRONG ATTENTION TO DETAIL, RELIABILITY, AND COMMITMENT TO QUALITY AND SAFETY
